Environmental burden of disease settings

Selection settings

Table 418 Selection settings for module Environmental burden of disease.
Name Type Description
Exposure type
ExposureType The type of exposure considered in the assessment; acute (short term) or chronic (long-term).

Calculation settings

Table 419 Calculation settings for module Environmental burden of disease.
Name Type Description
Target level
TargetLevelType Select whether the assessment is at the level of external dose, internal (target) concentration or internal (systemic) dose. For an aggregate assessment, combining dietary and nondietary exposures, the target level is always internal concentration or internal (systemic) dose. When only dietary exposures are available, the target level is optional and may be an external (administered) dose, an internal (tissue) concentration or an internal (absorbed) dose.
Exposure calculation method
ExposureCalculationMethod Method for obtaining exposure estimates. These can be modelled exposures (e.g., external (dietary) exposures or internal exposure estimates obtained by aggregating dietary and non-dietary exposures) or exposure estimates derived from human (bio)monitoring data.
Burden of disease indicators
BodIndicator Burden of disease indicators.
Bod approach
BodApproach Specify the approach used for estimating the attributable burden of disease.
Exposure grouping method
ExposureGroupingMethod Specify the method by which the exposures are grouped in bins. For ‘Custom bins’, the specified bins are used for all exposure response functions. For ‘ERF-defined bins’, the bins defined for subgroups are used and for exposure response functions without subgroups, the specified custom bins are used.
Bin boundaries

Numeric

Specify the boundaries (%) of the bins by which the exposures are grouped. For ‘Custom bins’, the specified bins are used for all exposure response functions. For ‘ERF-defined bins’, the bins defined for subgroups are used and for exposure response functions without subgroups, the specified custom bins are used. Boundaries should be greater than 0 and smaller than 100%.
Standardised population size
EnvironmentalBodStandardisationMethod Specify the standardisation method, e.g. per 10,000, per 100,000 (default) or per 1,000,000 individuals.
Use HBM single value exposures

Boolean

Use HBM single value exposures (distribution percentile point estimates).

Uncertainty settings

Table 420 Uncertainty settings for module Environmental burden of disease.
Name Type Description
Lower uncertainty limit (%)

Numeric

Percentage lower bound, e.g. 2.5%.
Upper uncertainty limit (%)

Numeric

Percentage upper bound, e.g. 97.5%.
